»  QVC, Hulk Hogan Team Up to Sell Grills
Hulk Hogan to Sell His Brand of Grill

What are you gonna do when Hulk and QVC go wild over you?

Some fans may be adjusting one of pro wrestling's famous phrases as Hulk Hogan ventures into unknown marketing territory -- live TV sales. According to a company press release, he will make his QVC debut on Thursday, July 26, to sell- not feather boas, vitamins or belts- but a cooking utensil. Hogan will begin hawking the Hulk Hogan Ultimate Grill.

The Ultimate Grill will offer many surface options for cooking- two waffle plates, two grill plates and one griddle plate. It will also feature a temperature control ranging up to 450 degrees on each surface and a grease catcher. It is also rumored that the grill can cook beyond grilling. The ultimate grill can be used to bake cookies and bake pizzas according to some early advertisements.

This will not be the first celebrity-endorsed grill that QVC has decided to sell. The most famous of them is the Foreman Grill by George Foreman, former heavyweight boxing champion of the world. His grill, known as the "lean, mean fat-reducing grilling machine", became a hit after its debut on QVC in 1994. Currently QVC sells 11 versions of the grill as well as other associated Foreman products.

Hogan, 54, and QVC hope to strike the same success. Ken O'Brien, director of home merchandising for QVC, was enthused with the product potential. "This is an exciting venture for QVC", he said in the QVC press release. "Hulk's appearance on QVC will allow our viewers to see the other side of the wrestling legend while introducing them to a great new product. It's a win-win situation for everyone."Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, first hit the public scene when he debut as a wrestler in 1979. He essentially copied his flamboyant look from his wrestling hero "Superstar" Billy Graham, but took it to a new level with his massive frame and bleach-blonde hair. He was one of the first wrestlers to bring major mainstream attention to the "sports entertainment" business with his "Hulkamania" and 24-inch biceps. He appeared in many television shows and movies. He currently stars in a VH1 reality show titled "Hogan Knows Best".

QVC (Quality, Value, Convenience) is a multi-media retailer based in Pennsylvania that relies on television and its website to sell its wares. Currently QVC reaches 166 million homes worldwide to include Japan and Germany.
